Week 1: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You Hear?

I am considering doing homeschool for my children. Wesly is my oldest and he will not be old enough to start kindergarten until fall of 2010. In the meanwhile I have decided to try out a what works for us and see if I would be interested in keeping him home once the time arrives to send, or not to send, him to public school.
I hope to document quite a bit of what we do and see how this journey goes!

I have found I am really intrigued with the book based curriculum idea. I decided to start with Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you Hear?
I'll post pictures of the activities we do with this book as the week goes on.

1. Sequencing: Put the pictures in order of the story.

2. Color the pictures to make your own book.

3. Matching Game: First we turned them upside down on the table.

Then I remembered I made this board in an FHE swap group. The board has pockets that kept the cards in place. And the boys also couldn't cheat by looking through the cards (maybe use thicker paper next time?)

Sometimes Travis or Wesly would get upset if they didn't get a match....
But getting a match is exciting!
Wesly Trying to peak...

Overall, so far so good!
